Push-Through Lettering

Acrylic pushed through an aluminum face so the letter stands proud and lights from behind.

A push-through cabinet gives you a lit 3D letter without building a letter set. Acrylic shapes are cut to the artwork and pushed through matching cut-outs in the aluminum face, standing slightly proud of the surface, with LEDs behind. The result is crisp, dimensional and far more durable than individually mounted letters.

Our build uses 1″ aluminum angle retainers VHB-bonded to a .090 aluminum face, fastened with countersunk screws into a 1″ × 3″ aluminum angle side frame. The push-through face is mounted on a welded stud system for strength and registration — the letters do not drift.
